Big black and bold is a pageant focusing on promoting the sophisticated and ambitious full figured woman of the new millennium according to the organisers Isis modelling agency and IN Focus PR
These liberated women believe in promoting individuality, confidence and achievement through a healthy competition.
The Big Black & Bold Pageant is an event devoted to celebrating the essence of the full-figured woman by providing traditional beauty pageant competition for those teens and women ages 15 and up to 25. “The typical African woman is voluptuous, not skinny and doesn’t necessarily have to be lanky. We see a lot of modeling competition and pageants come and go. We have seen the winners as well and know some of the criteria for participating and winning. That is in that category, but what we are going to do with this particular pageant is to give the plus size woman a voice and a platform to showcase culture in its entirety, exhibit a high level of intelligence and of course with poise”.
During the press launch of this event, c.hub had a brief chat with the woman behind the event Mrs Chitola Roberts in Lagos, and she tells us why her concept with this pageant is different.
“Big Black and Bold contest is out to give a definition to the industry by balancing the styles and give recognition to the real Africann woman in culture and intelligence. Helping them identify their x-factor, realize their qualities and stride ahead to be a winner in life”
