Call for nominations are now open for the Divas of Colour international women’s award 2018.
The forum was launched in 2014 to provide career growth opportunities for women of colour in business and professionals alike and now in it’s 5th year has remained the most prestigious awards and platform for influential women of colour across the globe.
Since its inception in 2014, Divas of Colour awards have been received by high profile personalities such as;
Late Maya Angelou (USA renowned poet and author) Rep Dee Dawkins Haigler USA Congress woman, Georgia state), Prof EA Anionwu, Veteran journalist Sherry Dixon (Former Chief Editor Pride Magazine), CNN Hero Betty Makoni, Hon. Cecilia Ogwal (Ugandan Member of Parliament), Prof Ngozi Obasi(Senior Lecturer at University of Port Harcourt), Lesley Owusu (British Olympic Champion), Dr Yvonne Thompson (OBE), Funke Abimbola (OBE), Hon. Abike Dabiri, to mention a few.
The flagship festival is held every spring in London and has been described as the largest gathering of influential women of colour from around the globe. The festival comprises of – International fashion show, tradeshow, conference focusing on social or humanitarian issues affecting women of colour and a lavish awards ceremony.
While the popular Divas of Colour conference has been compared with the likes of TEDx and attracted huge amounts of applications from speakers all around the world who wish to be considered to speak on the Divas of Colour platform.
The awards nomination is open to women of colour from every nation, and creed, and women can nominate themselves or be nominated by friends and colleagues.
