As an entrepreneur, there is the possibility that at one point in time or another, you may need to organize corporate events for your business. It could be an exhibition, a seminar, a workshop, book launch, and so on.
One of the peculiar things entrepreneurs come across when trying to organize such events is finding the right sponsors for the events.
It is not all the potential sponsors you’ve identified that may want to support your event or even listening to you.
And so, how do you get the right sponsors to successfully partner with you?
Here are some practical ways you can crack that nut:
Have a USP: Why should the company consider your business over other businesses? What sets your business apart and how is that a selling point for you? You need to know these things and be clear about them. Your unique selling proposition is what sets your business apart from others.
Target the right companies based on your customer base: Avoid picking a company for sponsorship just because. You can take a look at your audience and think about companies or establishments that would like to reach them, then you can pitch to such companies.
Provide value: What value would you be bringing the company as a result of the sponsorship? And so, list them out and explain them carefully.
Write an attractive proposal: Make sure your proposal adequately highlights those benefits of sponsoring your events, who your audience are, your similar goals, and so on. In addition, you need to make it as attractive as possible. If you want, you can also get a company or an individual to help you write or polish the proposal.
Ask for the right amount: Don’t be intimidated that you ask for a very little amount of money that may not be adequate for your plans and preparations.
Accept rejection: It isn’t every company you pitch to that would accept your proposition. And so, whenever you’re faced with such.
Follow up: Always follow up!
