Prime Minister Theresa May delighted to meet Emmanuel Okoro who designed her jacket while in Nigeria.
Yesterday, Wednesday 29th August, UK Prime Minister Theresa May began her 3 phase trade visit to Africa with her first official visit to Nigeria. During her visit to Nigeria, Mrs May was spotted in an eye catching vibrant yellow African print jacket designed by a Nigerian, Emmanuel Okoro.
The designer who is born and based in Nigeria is the founder of Emmy Kasbit, a brand which he started in 2013. In 2017, he emerged as one of the top 5 finalists for he Lagos fashion and design week (LFDW) fashion focus.
The Prime Minister has acknowledged the talented designer using her social media, twitter page. In her tweet she wrote, “I was delighted to meet @emmykasbit who designed the jacket i wore in Nigeria. #UKNigeria #MadeinNigeria.
The Prime Minister has also met with both President Buhari and Lagos state Governor Ambode and is now on her way visiting Kenya and South Africa as she’s set to visit the Rhode Island where Nelson Mandela was once imprisoned. The Africa tour visit has been said to be a necessity for the Prime Minister as her Brexit deal is set to be a disastrous no deal one.
