NBA Legend, Michael Jordan, to donate $100M to Bring About Racial Equality and Social Justice
Less than a week ago, in a statement, Michael Jordan said he and his Jordan Brand will be giving out $100M to many organizations kicking against racism. He continued that the money would be distributed in over 10 years. The Six-times NBA Champion (Michael Jordan) is among many celebrities that have shown support to the Black Lives Matter movement either by donating money or joining their respective communities in removing every stain of racism. Just last week, the NBA legend expressed his anger over the unjustly killing of a fellow black American George Floyd: “I’m deeply saddened, truly pained and plain angry. I see and feel everyone’s pain, outrage, and frustration. I stand with those calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of colour in our country.”
According to the President of Jordan Brand (Craig Williams): “We are announcing a joint commitment from Michael Jordan and Jordan Brands to donate $100M over the next 10 years. We must join forces with the community, government and civic leaders to create a lasting impact together. There is still more work for us to do to drive real impact for the black community. We embrace the responsibility.”
Jordan brand is known as a family that has more than one member. The brand as a whole has won lots of fights in battling discrimination in communities worldwide. Jordan brand stands against racism and injustice. They believe anyone having the same view about this particular subject matter has become one of their own.
