Ndubuisi Egbo wins Two Big Awards in Albania for his Incredible Season with KF Tirana
Former Nigerian international, Ndubuisi Egbo, has been named the coach of the year and
Sports Personality of the year 2020 in Albania after his wonderful 2019-20 season with KF Tirana. Egbo with these two special awards became the first African man last year to guide a team to a top-flight title in Europe – he managed FK Tirana to their 25th Albanian league title win.
The former Super Eagles goalkeeper has his name in history as the first African to stand in the dugout to see a team through UEFA Champions League and Europa League games as Tirana represented the Albanian league at the continental top competition level.
Though Ndubuisi Egbo was sacked by the club due to series of defeats in the new season, early elimination from continental competitions and also dismissal from the Albanian cup but the amazing records the 47years old set last year still got football fans singing his name till date.
Ndubuisi Egbo earned a handful of appearances in the green-white-green jersey for the Super Eagles in his active playing days as a goalkeeper. The former FK Tirana head coach was part of the Nigerian national senior teams that went to two consecutive Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments in 2000 and 2002.
Before Egbo returned as the coach of SK Tirana in 2014, he was a former football player for the club between the year 2001 and 2004. In his playing days with Tirana, Egbo was part of the team that lifted the Albanian Cup, Super Cup and the Superliga.
